Discover Tenerife
On the 'Island of Eternal Spring', you'll find incredible beaches with different characteristics to enjoy the sun or practise aquatic sports. Like Las Teresitas, Fañabé, La Tejita and Masca, the latter of which requires a hike or a boat ride to reach, and Playa Jardín, characterised by its fine volcanic sand. The natural spaces you'll find in Tenerife will take your breath away and send you home from your holiday with a fascination for the island.
We recommend you explore Teno Rural Park, one of the most beautiful places on the island, with cliffs, valleys and forested areas; Anaga Rural Park, declared a Biosphere Reserve, which has an impressive mountain range with ravines that descend to lovely beaches; and Teide National Park, the island's most important tourist attraction. In the latter you'll get to see Teide, a volcano and the highest peak in Spain, and the Ucanca Valley and the incredible colours, formations and landscapes that surround the place.
Tenerife also has charming towns and cities worth visiting, like San Cristóbal de la Laguna and its old town, and Buenavista del Norte with its Caserío de Masca, where you'll see a hamlet with traditional Canarian architecture in a spectacular landscape. We also recommend you get to know the capital of the island, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and take stroll through its old town and the area around Avenida de Anaga.
Gastronomy on the Island of Eternal Spring
The cuisine of Tenerife will captivate you with its delicious dishes that go far back in time. You'll find dishes with meat and fish served with the typical condiments of the region. Amongst the most common dishes are papas arrugás con mojo, small potatoes cooked in their skins served with a variety of 'mojos' or sauces; gofio, a kneaded mixture of barley flour and diverse ingredients; ropa vieja, a stew made with chicken, chick peas, potatoes, a dash of white wine and abundant spices; and puchero canario, a recipe with a long list of ingredients that includes both typical and exotic vegetables.Acantilados de los Gigantes:
The 'Cliffs of the Giants', massive vertical walls that plunge abruptly into the sea, represent one of the most spectacular landscapes of Tenerife. Some of them are as high as 600 metres. The original inhabitants of the islands, the Guanches, attributed magical qualities to this place.
Caserío de Masca:
A hamlet in which the houses are lined up along mountain crests to form a spectacular landscape. This tiny village is one of the most beautiful natural settings in Teno Rural Park.
