Discovering the best of Sunny Beach
At Sunny Beach you'll be able to visit the seafront promenade and take a pleasant bicycle ride. There you'll find shops with typical local products and bars with musical entertainment for an enjoyable evening. But if you want to see the outskirts of Sunny Beach, we recommend you visit places like Zheravna, a mountain village with lovely wooden houses; Sozopol, a charming fishing village; Nesebar, a beautiful city on a peninsula connected to the mainland by a very narrow isthmus; and the capital, Burgas, one of the country's largest cities.
Around Sunny Beach you'll find natural spaces well worth a visit. We recommend you visit Cape Emine, a 60-metre cliff that hides a lovely and uncrowded beach, and arrange an excursion to the Kamchia River Nature Reserve or the Ropotamo Nature Reserve to learn about the area's flora and fauna. And if you want to experience an adventure at sea, don't hesitate to take a trip in one of the sailboats that leave from Sunny Beach which will show you the most beautiful landscapes of the Bulgarian coast.
Gastronomy
Bulgarian cuisine, marked by the influences of its Balkan neighbours, is noted for being flavourful and heavily spiced. The most traditional specialities that we recommend you try include meat dishes like kavarmá, méshana skara and sarmí; dishes made with yoghurt or cheese, like cold tarator soup, airán and shopska salata; and delicious desserts like baklava, tolumban and kadaif.
Zheravna:
This small village in the hills east of Sunny Beach is one of the most picturesque of Bulgaria. Its beautiful wooden houses and cobblestone streets make this place magical.
Cape Emine:
Together with Kaliakra, it's the most beautiful cape on the Bulgarian coast. From the lighthouse there are stunning views of the sea that will take your breath away.
Nesebar:
This city is located on a peninsula. On its cobblestone streets, old churches alternate with wooden houses, bars, restaurants and souvenir shops. Strolling through its streets, steeped in history, is an authentic pleasure.
